Female Head 1

Female Head 1

Female Head 1

I started this concept ten years ago but it never materialized. I painted on larger pieces of wood and the rasults were very raw and i vowed to return to this style at a later date. Ten years later i am revisting this concept again. My first attempt to approach this style again was in my 2010 exhibition Womb to tomb. My father having a stroke provoked me to reflect the effects of an organic shift of the human form when the body malfunctions and leaves a visable trace. You can see this painting on my website www.rasher.ie titeled Tricky. Female Head 1 is my second painting of this style.

Reflections

Reflections was a difficult labour of love and at times had its testing  moments. It was completed after ten months of continues work, up to thirteen hours a day, five days a week . This painting has all my signature trademarks, bright vivid colours, a semi fisheye perspective, swirling clouds and a slight narrative. I like to look at life from different angles and perspectives.
