Reflections
Reflections was a difficult labour of love and at times had its testing moments. It was completed after ten months of continues work, up to thirteen hours a day, five days a week . This painting has all my signature trademarks, bright vivid colours, a semi fisheye perspective, swirling clouds and a slight narrative. I like to look at life from different angles and perspectives.
All I can say is I absolutely love it Rasher!!!
Simply amazing! Your work (especially this one) inspires me.
Reddit made my way here, just came to say nice work!

oh. my. god. this is sooooooooo cool….i love this. wow. you did an amazing job. i am so inspired.
I was so drawn to this painting the second I set my eyes on it. The labor of love shows and I could look at the detail for hours. I would love to have this, in smaller form, in my home! Beautiful thoughtful piece!!!
For me, the power in this is not knowing the time/place, whether this is past generations that have lived out their lives since or are here and now as children with all those possibilities, successes and disappointments ahead of them. We all have memories like this, but can never remember the concerns that we had at the time, as if those times really were carefree, which of course they weren’t. We choose to forget the bad, unless it’s really bad, and that emphasises the positivity in our outlooks; that we always choose, if possible, for those times to have been happy.
Having young children myself, I am reminded that I am having a hand in making their childhood memories, although whether I actually influence that or it is just vanity, remains to be seen.
Sky, water, life, the heart shaped clouds above, innocence, not-such innocence, the full circle of life (reflected in the aspect) and the reminder of our responsibilities to ourselves and those that we influence. Endless possibilities above, but only darkness and the roots of it all beneath, not within sight of the children unless they choose to delve into it – but there is nothing there except emptiness – it’s all in the present and the future.
So it’s a picture of hope and positivity. Never look down -Never look back. Don’t dwell on the past because there is nothing useful there. We can’t even rely on what we remember to be true – so; is this our past or someone else’s future? The positivity reminds us though, that there must a counterpoint darkness.
I love it, and I’m already lost in it – there is so much here to think about. A brilliant painting, and very beautiful too.
That’s my favourite painting. It’s just incredible !!
